Museum Theatre and IMTAL

This month Canberra hosts the Asia Pacific forum on museum theatre and young people.

Museum theatre Is a creative and interactive approach through which museums and other cultural institutions engage and educate  their audiences and visitors. In the school museums world, this would include enacting the  historical  period  through ‘costumed schooling’.

IMTAL is the organisation that brings together museum theatre practitioners providing a way to share their ideas, experiences, as well as source advice and inspiration.

IMTAL Is the  International Museum Theatre Alliance which has an Asia Pacific branch which aims to represent and offer services to its members and also to partner members in IMTAL Americas and IMTAL Europe.

IMTAL Asia Pacific has a network of around 200 people in Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea, Japan, China, and Singapore. Members are invited to join from around the world.
