The Centenary of Canberra celebrated in 2013 stimulated a good deal of research on the history of schooling in the districts that became the Australian Capital Territory in 1911.
Intensive work was done on the general history of ACT education by the ANME and local school museums include the Hall School Museum now published in their notable book on early schools and the Tuggeranong Schoolhouse Museum.
This research revealed that there was little work on the formation of the ACT system, its unique approach to curriculum, and the development of Canberra College of Advanced Education that became the Faculty of Education at UC. A later project therefore concentrated on researching this history as it was recorded and documented. The final report of this project is now available.
